Part One: Cryptocurrency for Lawyers

This seminar will provide attendees with a brief history on the emergency of cryptocurrency, current trends related to the payment of legal services using cryptocurrency, considerations and best practices in accepting cryptocurrency as payment, and Nebraska and other bar ethics opinions on those crypto-payments.

Part Two: The Nebraska Financial Innovation Act

This seminar will review things Nebraska attorneys need to know about the Nebraska Financial Innovation Act, including: background, drafting, stakeholders, and concerns; federal and international regulatory developments; the Uniform Commercial Code for Controllable Electronic Records; and administrative rules and procedures for Digital Asset Depositories.

Nic left the traditional practice of law in the summer of 2022 to devote his efforts to providing services to startups in the blockchain technology space, both as an attorney and a strategic consultant. In addition to operating Black Sheep Law, a practice devoted to servicing small businesses and tech startups under non-traditional fee structures, Nic currently enjoys collaborating with a multi-disciplinary, international team of experts in various fields to find ways to grow new blockchain companies.
