David Bracht serves as Co-Chair of Kutak Rock’s Hemp Industry Practice Group and has worked for more than 35 years’ in the fast-evolving sectors of agriculture and renewable energy. He has experience in business, government and law, including senior management experience in private banking, insurance and risk management, as well as multiple appointed positions within federal and state government agencies. David works with producers and agribusinesses involved in the production, processing and sale of agriculture products, in addition to lenders, insurers and other firms supporting the agriculture and food industries. He also advises clients focused on energy efficiency projects and on renewable energy projects including biofuels, biomass, solar and wind energy, as well as lenders and vendors to the energy sector. Based on his multiple government appointments, David represents firms obtaining permits and otherwise interacting with federal, state and local government agencies and regulators. Previously, David was appointed Director of the Nebraska Energy Office by Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and was a member of the Governor’s Cabinet from January 2015 until August 2018, when he re-joined Kutak Rock after having practiced with the firm from 1997 to 2000. David has held multiple senior management positions in Washington, D.C. including with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as Associate Manager of USDA’s Federal Crop Insurance Corporation during the administration of President George H.W. Bush, and as Director of Finance for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. David is currently Chair of the Agriculture Council of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and also serves as chair of the Agriculture Law Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association.)

Nebraska attorneys may claim only 5 hours of distance-learning CLE per year. Webinars viewed on this portal are considered distance-learning. The NSBA has 30 days to report your hours to Nebraska MCLE, and your transcript may not update immediately.
