: So much of the practice of law involves decision-making, and convincing others to make better decisions based upon fact rather than emotion. This course is intended to help you appreciate how you involuntarily make decisions, to help you to recognize and prevent bias, and to know how to effectively communicate with persons whose bias affects others.

We’ll go through a dozen interesting studies, and what are called “hurdles” to understanding others. We’ll learn to re-frame issues, and to use advanced communication strategies. I promise it will be interesting, and even fun.

Claude E. Ducloux has been licensed in Texas since 1977 and has also been licensed in California and Colorado.  In 2011, he won the highest statewide award from the State Bar of Texas for lifetime contribution to CLE (the "Gene Cavin Award"). Claude has spoken in more than 500 programs across the country since January 1, 2016, where attendees regularly rate his presentations very highly.  Mr. Ducloux has a long legacy of bar service, including being President of the Austin Bar Association, and serving as Chair of almost every major Bar-related entity, as well as the Texas Bar Foundation.
